Why does Jiffy Lube always say I need a new air filter?

Why does Jiffy Lube always say I need a new air filter? Because you probably do. Cars drive around in a ton of pollution and filth. Air filters take in the polluted air, clean it, and then put the clean air into your car. Think about everything in the air these days. Think about the amount of pollution that 1 car puts into the air. Now, think about how many cars there are on the road. Also, think about how many factories and other buildings there are in your area that also contribute to air pollution.

Is it any wonder why you should replace your air filter as often as you get your oil changed? Having your air filter checked the same time you get your oil changed is the perfect way to do it. This will ensure that your air filter always stays clean and unclogged. Clogged air filters dramatically decrease your fuel efficiency. Your car’s air filter works the same way your home air filter does. If the air filter is clogged in any way, your air conditioner at home and your the engine in your car have to work much harder. When you engine has to work harder, it uses more gas.

Have you ever noticed that your car gets worse gas mileage during the summer, especially if you haven’t checked your air filter in a while. Making your air conditioner work overtime is the perfect way to waste that precious $3 per gallon gas. There is a reason why your oil changing company tells you to replace your air filter all the time. I can see why you think they are just trying to throw a service on you that you don’t really need. But, in reality, replacing your air filter is one the simplest ways to get better gas mileage. This also helps your engine run more smoothly. If Jiffy Lube tells you to replace your air filter every time you get your oil changed, do it. It is in the best interest of your car, your engine and your wallet.
