Who Invented Fuel Additives
November 5, 2008 – 11:52 amFuel additives were invented in 1935 by the company Lubrizol. The first fuel additive was Solvenized Concentrate. This additive’s primary function was to clean out the carbon deposits left in engines.
Solvenized Concentrate was made popular when Pocahontas Oil Company introduced the revolutionary product in its Solvenized Blue Flash gasoline. It didn’t take long for the new fuel to become popular. In fact, cars lined up in long lines to fill up with the new fuel with the new fuel additive.
Fuel additives are made by many more companies now and are offered in many forms. Some fuel additives are found in gasoline. Other fuel additives can be added to the fuel in your gas tank. The two most popular forms of fuel additives are the liquid form and the tablet form.
Fuel additives have been around for decades but are becoming more popular as the price of gas continues to escalate. Fuel additives are the answer if you are looking to get better gas mileage, more power and increased performance. All you have to do is add the liquid additive or the additive tablet to your gas tank every time you fill up. The additive will slowly and effectively remove carbon deposits that were left in your engine by regular gasoline. Fuel additives are inexpensive and really do work. We can all thank Lubrizol for its invention over
