Honda VS. Toyota

November 23, 2008 – 5:48 pm
Like the Chevy vs. Ford rivalry, the Honda and Toyota rivalry sparks heated debates.  Honda has always been known for their quality and long-lasting cars.  Toyota also makes great vehicles which last longer than the typical American-made car.  Both companies offer a superior level of integrity and an unsurpassed level of quality.   Driver satisfaction ratings are through the roof with both companies because of each high level of reliability.
Honda and Toyota equip its cars with all-aluminum engines.  These cars also come with all-independent suspensions and individualized options.  These options can include 60/40 split rear seats and more.
The Honda Accord and the Toyota Camry are extremely similar.  They are the most popular family-size sedans.  Customers often find themselves narrowing their search criteria between the two cars.  Honda sells more Accords than Toyota sells Camrys because of the slightly lower cost of the Accord.
Honda Accords come in 2-door models, 4-door models and wagons.  You can also choose from three different trims which include: DX, LX and EX.  LX and EX models are available with a 2.7L V6 engine.  Toyota Camrys have slightly different options.  You can only get the Camry in a 4-door model.  This model can be equipped with three different trims: CE, LE and XLE.
The Camry tends to be a bit more stylish with its Lexus-like curves and good-looks.  The Accord has more of a simple and less ‘elegant’ look and feel to it.  The interior of the Camry isn’t any less glamorous.  The inside of the Camry looks and feel similar to the inside of a Lexus.  The inside of the Accord has more of a Jaguar-type feeling to it.
We now understand the difference in looks between the Accord and the Camry.  Let’s take a look at performance similarities and differences.  In terms of performance, the Accord is similar to a low-end BMW.  It doesn’t shift as smoothly as the Camry either.  The Camry handles with little effort, even when running up a steep hill.  The Camry’s engine, braking systems, transmission and suspension are more closely intertwined than the Accord’s.
When it comes down to it, the Camry utilizes more favorable vehicle virtues than the Accord does.  The Camry features more power, more room and better safety features than the Accord.  However, the Accord does come with a lower price tag.
Here’s the itemized breakdown.
