Do Gas Additives Really Work?

September 18, 2008 – 10:38 am
Rising gas prices have forced consumers every where to look for ways to save money at the pump. Gas everywhere across the country is still over $3 per gallon. Many Americans have been forced to choose between giving up something they love or filling up their car. For most people, gasoline isn’t a commodity. It is an absolute necessity. Don’t give up things in your life just to be able to fill up your car. Here are a few things to keep in mind if you are thinking about using a gas additive.
First of all, fuel additives have pretty much always been offered…at the pump. Most people don’t realize that the gas they buy already has fuel additives in it. Fuel additives are already placed in the gas we buy to help reduce emissions. The higher the octane of fuel, the more additives it has. If you really want to try fuel additives without having to spend a lot of money, try using a higher octane fuel.
Independent testing and review shows that fuel additives can increase your gas mileage. Keep in mind that not all fuel additives are created equally. Some fuel additives are completely worthless. Make sure you use an additive that has been proven in independent testing. Don’t waste your money on a cheap additive that won’t get you anywhere.
The best thing to do if you are interested in getting better gas mileage is to find out for yourself. Test these products for yourself. Check independent reviews. Get a fuel additive that has been proven and tested in independent labs. You can make sure that you are getting a product that really works. Remember, you are trying to save money. You aren’t trying to spend more money on products that won’t really increase your gas mileage at all.
